Before moving to West Virginia, I lived in VA and still enjoy visiting the dear friends I have there. While staying at this lovely house, we cooked yummy meals, did each other's hair, drank coffee, took walks to the park down the street, went swinging at the playground (haven't done that in forever!) and had encouraging, Christ-filled conversations.
When I travel I normally always bring my camera, but I don't jump on every opportunity to use it. I want to be a thoughtful photographer when doing lifestyle shots, which is my passion. I'm not always a "jump up and photograph that" kind of person. I guess I like to wait for inspiration, ya know? After about three days of being there I had begun to realize specific things I loved about this place. The way the light came in through the windows. The fresh flowers set in the window sills. The peaceful quiet when we were all just relaxing. And of course the wonderful collection of C.S. Lewis books. After I was able to enjoy it and know it I was able to capture exactly what I wanted.
I know talking about a house like this might sound silly and kind of like a Hallmark card (what can I say? I'm super sentimental sometimes!), but when you can be with people who's hearts are knit together in Christ and see their love of Him in their daily lives it sticks with you. It encourages me and inspires me to continue seeking Him and enjoying the little things we are so blessed with.
Huge thanks to our friends for hosting us and I look forward to seeing you all soon!
Thanks for visiting!
